You
can get to Nova Scotia by land, sea or air. Lunenburg is less than an-hour-and-a-half-from the Halifax international airport. From Yarmouth, on the Province's south-western tip, it is just under two hours. Car and passenger ferries from the USA land at Yarmouth. One ferry sails out of Portland, Maine, another from Bar Harbor, Maine. If you are driving, you will come into Nova Scotia at Amherst. It is about another three hours to Lunenburg. Highway 102 takes you from Amherst to just outside Halifax where you get on to Highway 103. About an hour later you get off at Exit 11. Then 15 minutes down the Northwest Road, through two 4-way stops, up a hill and into the town of Lunenburg. (Go to the "Lunenburg Map Page" for more directions to the Topmast) |
